So I don’t wanna p*ss you guys off with how tough it is poolside so I’m gonna go wintery (for today at least) with a cold weather wardrobe story.

There are only two people who like boots more than me.

And the second is Santa! But more on his boot crush tomorrow. He wishes he could get away with those super high gartered numbers.

Those crazeballs suspender thigh boots that nicole wore on the X Factor final were from Karen K.
They are approximately a gazillion dollars but you can buy them here.

I love living in sunshineland but I do get a perverse thrill at the prospect of winter dressing. Hats, scarves, gloves, boots, snoods, mittens, earmuffs. Oh my!
My Marc Jacobs fingerless cashmere gloves were much admired and frequently lost and my Muji muffs (*snigger) kept my ears warm but my quiff in place. Smart!
Other accessories credits go to All Saints and Paul Smith for this weekend’s hats and of course my friend Kathy for the scarf she knitted for me last November. I have no problem being head to toe high street as long as I have some killer accessories to hand.
The dolls of course have no clue how to dress for the winter so some serious thought (and investment) was required for this trip.

Now you may have noticed over the last couple of years (!!!) that I have a bit of a thing for thigh boots. Not in a sexual way, you understand, though they are incredibly sexy. Maybe I watched Pretty Woman too young or something but I do love them. And so do all these ladies.
Madge, RiRi, J.Lo, VB, Kylie, Shakira (not a Sarah among them!) all love them. But it was this picture of my 2012 crush, Rita Ora, performing at GAY in these thigh length beauties that had me heading to my fave doll designers in Hong Kong to check out the latest models…
In an attempt to keep my eBay habit under control I’m only going to buy one pair. And to take the pressure off, I thought I’d let YOU choose which pair to add to the BOTD shoe closet. I narrowed it down to 4 pairs and have left a form at the bottom for you to click on. Easy peasy. The hard part is choosing which boots we neeeeeed.

So when my friend Kathy sent me my amazing Ken watch a couple of weeks ago from Americaland, she also sent me this amaaaaazing book on boots.
I love a coffee table book! I love coffee. I love tables. I love books. And I love love love me a boot. Or a pair of boots. In year one of BOTD, thigh boots was one of the most popular tags and “Barbie+thigh+boot+ruched” was a frequently googled question that led people to the site (that and “Claudia+Winkleman+thigh+boot+fringe”, go figure!?).
The dolls have a lot of boots. Knee boots. Ankle boots. Shoe boots. And yes, lots of thigh boots. It got to the point where I was receiving pairs from China, Hong Kong, Thailand every week. Gifts from (crazy fetish) fans and of course my own slight eBay addiction.
So this really is the perfect book for me and the dolls. You can see how much Madison loves it…
And how do we feel about these red extensions? No, I didn’t steal them from Amber. I actually found them whilst going through Jessie J’s bins. I quite like them. It reminds me of when Madison was a Cheryl Cole impersonator.
Did you see Newsnight last night? I nearly choked on my cocoa when Katie Price was announced as a guest speaker. At first I thought I might have been dreaming but sure enough, the artiste formally known as Jordan was appearing alongside a gaggle of busty women to debate the controversial use of PIP breast implants. A serious topic requires a serious look so Pricey rang BOTD in advance to ask what to wear. We though it was a joke so we replied with what we know best. Big hair and pink sequins. Little did we know that she was actually gonna take us seriously. Anyway. She kinda held her own and celebrated her appearance in style by getting changed and headed out afterwards for a drink in Barbie of the Day favourites, thigh boots! You can lead a horse(!) to Newsnight but you can’t make her think. Or something like that.
Ah, poor Cheryl, pet. What a turbulent week itz been! Sacked. Not sacked. US. UK. X Factor. Ex Factor. They’s still seyin itz har accent. Wharaboot har accent, man, pet? That Nicole Scherzinger cannat hawdlee evin speak!

At last! The big day has arrived. So big in fact that it requires more than one dress! It was a transparent dress that bagged Miss Middleton her prince in the first place so when she first contacted BOTD we knew exactly what she was after. A stunning micro mini in ivory lace seemed the perfect option and was teamed with a pair of ruched leather thigh boots. Following several meetings and a number of phone calls from the palace we opted for a second, more traditional dress, in bright white lace with feather skirt. We were incredibly lucky to work with the photographer Annabelle Moller to capture these precious moments and wish you all a very happy royal wedding.
Thigh boots, micro denim hot pants and some serious attitude. Maybe a bit out there for buying flowers at the market but this is an outfit that packs a punch. Don’t mess with this ghetto girl.
After all the madness of the red carpet season we’re going back to the ghetto (fabulous.) A bit of bling, some distressed denim and some fierce boots. It’s still super glam but we’re keepin’ it real in our street chic. So don’t be fooled by the rocks that we got, we’re still BOTD from the block.
You know how it is. A bunch of hot girls living in a house together. We’ve all seen ANTM and we know that it can be a total bitchfest. Which is why, here at the new look BOTD Towers, cages have been installed to stop the top mo-dolls from ripping each other’s weaves out or tearing each other limb from limb. It may seem extreme but it really is necessary to maintain a happy home…. Slutty outfits optional.
