How Gay Is Your Christmas Tree?

Before you start, it’s too late. I’ve already pitched How Gay Is Your Christmas Tree? to Channel 4. Probably too late for a commission this year but lookout for it in December 2013.
Given the choice, my Christmas tree would indeed be this gay. I’d maybe add a bit more sparkle and feathers but I don’t wanna go over the top. Maybe real diamonds though. And some unicorns made of sugar? Animatronic unicorns?

Sneak Peek

So I’ve had a couple of messages asking about the BOTD 2013 calendar. If you are lucky enough to have the 2012 edition you will know that at the end of November there is a note, reminding you to order your 2013 copies.
The new edition went into production this week and I will have my proof at the start of next week to make sure I’ve included all the important dates like Louboutin’s birthday, as well as a few new ones. It’s also my last chance to check the photos for any glimpses of underwear or naughty nipslips.
I will of course let you know when they are available for purchase as well as a few new BOTD gifts and goodies.
In the meantime I thought I’d include a teensy tiny sneaky peek from the shoot with my fabulous photographer friend, Annabelle Moller, who once again shot the calendar with me.

We’re celebrating the start of the Festival de Cannes today, with a flashback to when I first moved to the Côte d’Azur five years ago.
Ah, the meeting of great minds. Picture the scene… Fabulous food. Fabulous fizz. Fabulous fashion and fabulous footwear.

The event; the Soho House party in Cannes. The location; a Grey Goose sponsored sofa. The guests on this particular sofa; aside from the unformed BOTD (I believe I was fertilised at this party) Chrissy Iley, the gorgeous Jason Solomons and…. Beauty and the Dirt! The beginnings of a beautiful friendship. Five years! We were surely just teenagers. I’m not sure if I was even blonde… and certainly not as blonde as this.

I love the Cannes Film Festival. The world suddenly descends on the South of France and it marks the true start of the season here. For all the boutique openings and mascara launches I might miss by not living in London, this week the focus shifts and the Côte d’Azur becomes the centre of the world. And you never know who you might meet!

Hello Sailor!

Every so often, our sleepy little village in the South of France is transformed into a pulsing hub of testosterone filled action. Yes, doll lovers, today marks the official start of Fleet Week.
We opened the shutters of BOTD Towers this morning to see a US Navy ship arriving in the bay filled to the brim with seamen!
Imagine (newly single) Heidi’s delight at the thought! She slipped into her girliest frock for the occasion in preparation for Roger the Cabin Boy.

In New York, just before Christmas, I went a little cray cray buying shoes for the dolls. Call it an early Valentine’s present but I couldn’t resist these hot pink beauties. Which are your faves?

Who doesn’t love a Barbie pink heel, right? Well apparently the designers do as they’ve all gone nuts for fuchsia footwear.

How many more sleeps? We’re trying to be productive and do some work but we would be much happier necking egg nog and wrapping presents for the dolls. At least we have dressed super sexy for the office in a Mad Men inspired look. Check out the new shoes we got in NYC. They hurt like hell but look purr-fect with this outfit.

Brooklyn Hot Mess

What is wrong with this picture? All the yellow? The Mariah Glitter era boots? Madison wearing her fur, again!? Or the fact that Amber is wearing flat shoes? Converse no less! Being in the USA has done something to the dolls shopping skills. Most of the stuff we get in Europe is bought online after careful consideration. Here the girls have gone wild picking up anything and everything in their paths. We came to the States with a capsule wardrobe (which is why you keep seeing Madison in her fur, plus it’s chilly in NYC). But the closet is expanding as rapidly as Beyoncé’s bump, with dozens of pairs of shoes, bags and sunglasses being added. So excuse the odd, pink heeled Timberlands because the next day may bring these amazing bondage Mary Janes worn with fierce leopard print tights. And although the dolls are as famous as Mrs Beckham for never wearing flats, sometimes hiking round Brooklyn (the neighbourhood as opposed to her son) requires a pair of Cons over a pair of Louboutins.

Purple Rain

Well, more pink than purple but I needed to bring some warm light in. I’m afraid it’s another shoot in the studio today. It is absolutely pouring down here, so the dolls are refusing to leave BOTD Towers to go on location. It is at least giving us a chance to think about our Halloween costumes and our wardrobe for our trip to the states. What the dolls don’t know yet is only two of them will make the cut to join me on our trip to the USA. It allows me to become all Tyra and make them fight it out for their plane tickets. Only two of you will continue on in the hopes of being America’s Next Top Mo-doll.
