Starting the week with a fashion dilemma. The Festival de Cannes starts on Wednesday and BOTD Towers is upside down as the dolls are picking out their outfits for all the red carpet madness ahead. Madison’s hair looks a little cray-cray but I’m loving the Monday morning office chic. As my friend Rudyard Kipling used to say to me…
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on Cannes…..
Uma Thurman stole the show yesterday at the first day of the Cannes Film Festival. She dazzled in Dolce during the day then sizzled in Versace Couture in the evening. On the red carpet when asked about her dress she even admitted, “Sexy isn’t it?” Fantastic in feathers and luscious in lace, Uma is the one to watch this year, forget the movies.
And so the madness begins. The 64th Festival de Cannes opens today, here on the Cote D’Azur and as ever we are red carpet ready… Well almost. A few last minute adjustments to our outfits and the fun can commence…. Oh but Ken. We can’t arrive with helmet hair, so forget the Vespa and call the limo.
Despite what many people think, Cannes is not all about the red carpet couture. With all the parties it is essential to master the art of the cocktail dress. An LBD is no longer sufficient when it comes to dressing to impress so here is a bit of inspiration from BOTD.
The Cannes Film Festival turns the Riviera into a media circus, so today we thought we would run away with it. This also marks our second collaboration with the genius that is www.bargainistafashionista.com
Earlier in the season, BOTD was asked to work with our newest BFF, BF (BargainistaFashionista that is) to show off another amazing collaboration, between Madame Sonia Rykiel and H&M. That’s a lot of initials. Here are the sexy results. Perfect for festival Barbie. Now where did I put my wellies?
What a weekend down on the Côte d’Azur. The Grand Prix in Monte Carlo tomorrow and of course the Cannes Film Festival. It’s non stop! Fortunately we have a wardrobe packed with outfits for any occasion and nobody does red carpet quite like BOTD. La Croisette won’t know what’s hit it. Now do you think it will be easier to get this frothy, frilly, pink number into the helicopter or the speedboat?
