Just when you thought Fashion Month was over, along comes a story to shock the press. Not the fashion press mind you, nor the bloggers, nor, well really you must have figured it out, non?
Reports are suggesting that stars have been paid to sit on the front row at fashion shows! Gasp! Can you believe it?
Erm… Yes of course we can believe it. Since when did Katy Perry have an interest in Chanel.. Or Miu Miu? Or whatever else she turned up to in Paris last week? (Seriously, KP, we’ve all had bad break ups but that hair is atrocious.) Stars have always been courted by the fashion houses. There’s always a free dress in it for you if you turn up to the right show. They might even fly you over for an event. Pay your hotel bill. Throw in a couple of handbags. Designers like to be endorsed and stars (like everyone) like free stuff. You can spend millions on advertising or give away a handbag or a pair of sunnies and let Gaga, Kate Middleton or Victoria Beckham do the hard work for you.
I’d like to state for the record, though, that Barbie of the Day has never been paid to sit on the front rows and promote a single designer. Never. Honest.
